I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the AGM tomorrow evening owing to a prior commitment. However, you invited comments on the proposed Newberries Carpark development, and I am sure there will be much comment at the meeting. My own views are broadly supportive of the development, as it will increase carparking space (and I do not see the additional spaces all being taken up by M&S/Travelodge staff and customers); could visually enhance the area, and is a project with little or no financial risk to the Council. Radlett has been constantly changing over the past 50 years I have known it (e.g. doubling of population, creation of two synagogues, change of every shop in the High Street), but still remains welcoming and friendly. In many senses this is a relatively small development and we should welcome the potential economic benefits and the innovation of the Council, and support not vilify their officers.
